OVERVIEW
SOSAD Ireland is a non profit organisation that provides free
counselling services to people who are suffering with suicidal
ideation, self harming, depression, bereavement, stress and anxiety,
or if you simply need to talk. We have five offices based in Cavan,
Louth, Meath and Monaghan from which we provide our services. SOSAD is
a volunteer led charity consisting of **Apply on the website**
volunteers and 7 paid staff.
We are currently looking to fill two roles: Coordinator for Monaghan
Town and a Fundraising Assistant for all of our other offices.
COORDINATOR NORTH MONAGHAN
The Coordinators role will require you to set up and run the new
branch of SOSAD Ireland based in Monaghan Town. It is envisaged that
this service will cover the town and the surrounding areas. This
service will also link in with our existing service based in
Carrickmacross. Initially you will be responsible for;
* Identifying and securing suitable premises
* Networking and promoting this new service
* Equipping of the Centre
* Recruiting Volunteers
* Recruiting Counsellors
Once the Centre is established you are then responsible for the
efficient and successful coordination of the Centre?s services and
building.
* First line staff management responsibilities for Volunteers and
TUS/CE staff
* Hours: **Apply on the website** per week. Monday to Friday,
Flexible to suit the needs of the service and SOSAD Ireland
* Occasional evening and weekend work is required in this post.
The post holder will work with the General Manager and other staff to
manage and develop the resources, services and projects of SOSAD, in
order to best meet the needs and aspirations of the local COMMUNITY.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
_ESSENTIAL:_
* Educated to leaving cert standard or at least 5 years relevant
experience
* Knowledge and experience working within a community setting
* Knowledge and experience with issues surrounding Mental Health and
supporting people with Mental Health issues
* Full drivers license
* Ability to work on your own initiative
* Ability to work as part of a team
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
_DESIRABLE:_
* Level 7 or above qualification in community mental health services

FUNDRAISING POSITIONS
We are currently looking to fill a fundraising assistant role in each
location: Cavan, Meath, Monaghan and Louth. The role of a fundraising
assistant includes organising and helping to run events throughout the
year. This role can be diverse as there is a wide range of events that
we run. It can involve helping manage events such as **Apply on the
website**km runs, to brainstorming new and innovative ideas.
Fundraising can be demanding so we are looking for energetic and
lively individuals with a variety of skills. This is a vitally
important position in our organisation as we depend entirely on
fundraising to run our offices. Without constant fundraising, we would
not be able to provide our life saving service to the community.
The role requires you to work for **Apply on the website** hours a
month. You will be required to manage your own time. You will work
with and report to your Local Coordinator.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE
FOLLOWING:
* Assist the office coordinator with any fundraising projects
* Manage all fundraising queries in your local area
* Provide support to fundraising volunteers
* Attend weekly fundraising meetings
* Support a variety of projects and initiatives at national and
local level
* Other duties as assigned by the office coordinator
KEY REQUIREMENTS
_ESSENTIAL:_
* Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
* Excellent organizational skills
* Experience in event planning/project management
* Drivers License
* Must be based in the area you are applying for
_DESIRABLE:_
* Previous experience working in fundraising
* Degree in event management or similar field
